Shillong, Jan 18: it seems Crime against women and children keeps on rising day by day. In another incident which took place at Mawlai Kynton Massar a forty year old man identified as Lakisan Khardewsaw allegedly raped a twelve year old girl.
Police informed that the incident took place on January 15.
It was also informed that on knowing of the crime committed by Khardewsaw by the local residents, they went to arrest the accused and assulted him and as a result, the accused sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital, they said.
In connection to this police informed that they are still investigating into the matter.
