Guwahati, July 06: Call it a ill motive of a Doctor or a modern educated radical that had lead a doctor to do a Circumcision operation instead of operating a boil in the head of a one year small kid at A J Hospital,in Morikolong, in Nagaon District of Assam.
The incident took place today in the morning at around 7 am, when a one year old boy was brought by his parents for a boil operation to A J Hospital, as called by Doctor Safiqul Islam, after he had earlier checked the boil in the head. The parents had reached the hospital at around 6 am, and the operation took place at around 7 am, but to a great surprise the parents had discovered a wrong and a totally unexpected operation that took place at the operation table.
However the doctor immediately operated the boil in the head near the ear after the parents complained. “ we had come to the hospital at 6 am and at around 7am the operation took place, and when we went inside the operation room, we found that instead of operating the boil in the head, the Doctor had cut this penis,did a Circumcision operation” said Bapi Ghosh, father of the kid.
Doctor Safiqul Islam, was later arrested by Police for the hospital after complaint was lodged by victim family. “ I do not accept that it was mistake, but what I did I did it for good of the child, I know that the patient did not come for circumcision but it was a additional operation”(SP News)
