Shillong, Sept 09: The regional political party of Meghalaya Kh
un Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) to day defied the prohibition order of 144 CrPc which prohibit people not to assemble more than four people.
The hunger strike call by the KHNAM is to put pressure on the government to implement ILP in the state of Meghalaya and gave to the teaching community their dues share. The y demand that Dr RC Laloo education minister should step down.
The District Administration right from the morning they have closed down the gate entering to the State Central Library so that the KHNAM members will not be able to hold their hunger strike in side the state central Library.
The leaders of the KHNAM let by the president Pyndapbor Saiborn, along with the Working president Adlbert Dkhar MDC, along with the two MDCs, Ban Basaiawmoit and Latiplang Kharkongor suddenly appear at the gate of the State Central Library tohold their hunger strike.
From the District Administration has tired to explain to them and request the leaders of the KHNAm not to hold their hunger strike on the state central library since the area was under the imposition of 144 CrPC but the KHNAM leaders refused to accept their request.
Seeing that the KHNAM leaders are not complied with the request from the District administration, they have no alter native but to take them away from the state central library by use the police force.(SP News)
