Shillong, March 6: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee would like to see that all its newly elected MLA’s to stick by the party manifestoes and that they should also be able to fulfilled their promises that they made during the election campaign.
In order to ensure that all elected MLA go by the manifesto a meeting was held with the new legislators on Wednesday.
Stressing on the need that all elected MLA stick by the manifestoes,MPCC president D. D. Lapang meetingheld a said if the MLA go by the party manifesto speedy development can be ensured in the state within five years.
We have asked them to be sincere and live up to the commitments and assurances of the party made in the manifesto,” MPCC president D. D. Lapang said.
Besides, the meeting also expressed happiness over the election of Mukul Sangma as the CLP leader of the party. “We have assured him to work together and provide a meaningful and fruitful leadership,” he said. .
While, admitting that it would be difficult to satisfy everyone while forming the cabinet, Lapang said it is the prerogative of the chief minister to select his ministerial team even though all the elected MLAs can justifiably claim a berth in the cabinet.(SP News)
