Shillong, Oct 20: The president Pranab Mukherjee will arrived to Shillong tomorrow on his maiden visit to the State of Meghalaya after assuming office as the president of India. He will be hear in Shillong for two days.
The president will arrived in Shillong tomorrow amid tight security since the band outfit Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) has call 36 hours bandh in protest of his visit to Meghalaya.
The Government has had review meeting at the highest level to deal with the visit of the President of India. The state government is ready to tackle any eventually.
At the same time the HNLC in the press statement issued by the publicity secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw asked the people to extent their support to the bandh call by the band organized.
While reacting to the ICARE, Nongtraw said that the HNLC is not against the interest of the laboures nor the student community, the HNLC rather asked the ICARE members to raise their vice against the corrupt government official who swindling the poor mans money. The HNLC tell ICARE members do not play double standard but they should come and support the Hynniewtrep from extinction, said Sainkupar Nongtraw Publicity secretary.(SP News)
