Shillong, Dec 16: The pro ILP group met on Sunday and decided to call off their agitational programme temporarily due to the festive season during this Christmas and coming New Year. They still maintain that the government should implement the Eatsern Bengal Frontier Regulation Act 1873 to protect the tribal community of Meghalaya.
The General Secretary the KSU, Auguster Jyrwa said that they have suspended their agitational programme for the time being and they will announced fresh agitation in the month of January 2014. The organisation who are leading the agitation thank the public for their support in their agitation in the past three month.
The organisation who was leading the agitation they will not stop their agitation till the government implement the ILP, their demand is for the protection of the tribal people of Meghalaya so that it will not be swam away by big communities in the near future.
The organisation thank the members who have sacrifice themselves for the caused, the issued that they have taken is not only for the 13 organisation but for the people of Meghalaya, the government should not wait but should implement the ILP in the state so that the tribal community in the state of Meghalaya be protected.(SP News)
