Guwhati, march 14: Hira Sarania, once a dreaded Ulfa leader, who is now on the sides of the ULFA peace talk group is all set to contest the forth coming LS election from Kokrajhar Constituency, from The Bodo Land Territorial Counci, Assam. The fact that a separate Bodo land state is on demand by the Bodo leaders, and the central governemnt that has already formed a one man committee to look in to the pros and cons of the separate state of Bodoland, the Non-Bodo community are feeling safe.
Thus a large number of non-Bodo organisations have choose the ULFA leader to fight the election to represent their voice so that it can be heard in the parliament. Hira Sarania, is a polular leader since the time he was in the ULFA and now people have got the opportunity after he had joined the pro-Talk Ulfa group.Hira Sarania, is not a surrendered ULFA leader but has joined the peace talk group under the leadership the ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa.
Sarania, the dreaded commander of ULFA,s 709 battalion, says, ” I have been in the field for quite some time and have been mingling with the common people, and i realise that Guns will not solve the problems”. Once the leader fighting for a sovereign Assam denied the Indian constitution to day hopes to fight for the people through a democratic way, and hoping that his canditature will not be ruled out by the Election Commission. During the recent visit the Chief Election Commission in Guwahati, the CEC did not say anything negative against the candidature of the ULFA leader when questioned by the Media if Sarania can qualify to fight a election.
Lafikul Islam, the General Secretary of the All Bodoland Minority Students Union, says that, along his organisation there are other 16 non-Bodo organisations that is supporting the candidature of Hira Sarania. ” We hope that under his leadership our voice against the demand of a separate Bodoland will will be more strong”. added Islam.(SP News)
