Shillong, Marc h 7: Protem speaker Rowell Lyngdoh administer oath to Fifty eight new legislators of the 9th Meghalaya Legislative Assembly today.
Twenty seven new legislators out of the 58 who took oath are new MLA’s. Eleven are Independents, nine Congress, four UDP, two HSPDP, and one each from NESDP and NCP.
Except the protem speaker Rowell Lyngdoh and Ngaitlang Dhar, 8 United Democratic Party (UDP), 4 Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP), 2 Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), 2 National People Party (NPP), 1 North East Social Democratic Party(NESDP), 1 Garo National Council and 13 Independents (INC), legislators took oath.(SP News)
