Shillong, June 22: IIM Shillong gets its new director with Prof Amitabha De who takes over Prof Kaya Sengupta on June 17.
Before joining as Director of IIM Prof De was a professor at national Institute of Industrial Engineering(NITIE), Mumbai
He holds M. Sc. and Ph. D. from the University of Calcutta, West Bengal and has widespread expertise in ergonomics, human factors engineering, biomechanics, executive work and work stress, and human factors in technology management.
He has undertaken various research projects sponsored by Government of India and industries related to his expertise. He has also taken on various consulting assignments guiding the corporate houses encompassing industries like manufacturing, petroleum, airline, and chemical industries. He was also member in two national committees in the Ministry of Labor & Welfare, Government of India.
With an experience of twenty-nine years in teaching, research, and administration, Prof Amitabha De believes in working together.(SP News)
