Shillong, March 14: The budget session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly begin today with the customary address from the governor of Meghalaya Shri R S Mooshahary in the first sitting of the Assembly.
In his address the governor has express his great concern crimes against women, he said rape has shown an upwards trend in Meghalaya which need to be tackle and new strategies need to formulate to tackle the problems. Over all crime in Meghalaya has been curtailed.
When it come to planning, the plan size for the financial year 2012-2013 has been fixed for Rs 3,939 cores with an incressed of 44% but for the financial year 2013-2014 yet to be finalized. When it come to finance the financial position of the state is remain stable.
When it comes to tax collection the government is actively pursing authorization of more bank for E- Payment which will be more convenience for tax payers. In his address the governor has touches in the entire government department.(SP News)
