Shillong Nov 23: The Ribhoi Students Union (RBSU) Central Body expressed their grieved over the arrest of its two members of the Union who were alleged of extortion at Ryndangbriew in Mawlai recently.
Claiming that the allegation was false, General Secretary of RBSU Central Body, Everjoy Nongpluh said that the whole incident arise out of some personal grudge since five occupants of the truck are from Ri Bhoi District.
He also said, “The said truck has provoked our members who were on their way home to Mawlai”.
“We heavily downplay the whole scenario as we have full faith and confidence on both our members” General Secretary of RBSU Central Body asserted.
Meanwhile, the RBSU Central Body appreciated the city patrol from the police department who coincidently arrived at the spot at the time when there was just a heated argument and could prevent any on toward incident as the members of the RBSU were already outnumbered.(SP News)
