Recruitment for the Indian Army for the youth of Mizoram at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium

Shillong, Jan 12: Recruitment for the Indian Army for the youth of Mizoram will commence at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Aizawl from 15 January 2014.  Last recruitment rally was held at Aizawl for Mizoram in May 2013 in which more than six thousand candidates participated. 207 candidate from Mizoram were selected during the last rally and dispatched to training centres in a very well attended ceremony in end September 2013. The Army authorities are expecting an even bigger response this time and are preparing for the same.

Army Recruiting Office Aizawl has informed that recruitment for Soldier General Duty and Tradesmen categories will be carried out on 15 January 2014 for all candidates from Mizoram. All male candidates, who are permanent resident of Mizoram, can participate in the rally on 15 January 2014, which happens to be the Army day also. Recruitment for Soldier Technical, Clerk, Soldier Technical, Inventory Management and Soldier Nursing Assistant, for which the basic criteria is class twelfth or equivalent with English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or a combination of these subjects, will be carried out on 16 January and 17 January 2014. Candidates from all North Eastern States can participate in on these days in these categories. Gorkhas from all the seven NE states can participate in the rally for Soldier General Duty category on 16 January 2014.  Candidates can get in touch with Army Recruiting Office Aizawl on telephone number 9158938290.

The candidates are advised to come to Rajiv Gandhi Stadium latest by 6 AM. The Recruiting Officer has advised all candidates to check their age, education and physical parameters before coming for the rally. It was highlighted that candidates with tattoo on any part of the body, except small tattoos on the inner part of the forearm and back of the palm, are not eligible for recruitment and should not participate.

The Army authorities informed that candidates who pass the 1.6 km run test will be required to stay at the rally site for the whole day and may be another day for their screening medical. The entire selection process is likely to take three to four days and the candidates should come prepared accordingly. The authorities emphasized that recruitment in the Army is free. No payment of any sort, including for any forms, is taken. Recruitment in the Indian Army is free, open, and transparent. No one can influence the recruitment. Candidates should not fall prey to the touts. They must rely on their own ability. Any such activity should be reported to the military authorities or police without fear.

The Army Authorities requested the people of Aizawl and the District Administration of Aizawl to welcome the candidates from the other six NE States as honoured guests in the best traditions of Mizoram.(SP News)
