Jowai, June 11: The people of Jaintia Hills in the coal belt areas line under threat. The fear psychosis that the people face is from the criminals who move freely and gave a demand call to traders in the coal belt area.
The general secretary of the Jaintia Coal Miners and Dealers Association (JCMDA) said that daily market at Umpleng village has to closed down their shop before four o’clock in the afternoon, and many of them have shut down their shop due to fear.
The Association has written to the government on the issued but they have not seen any response that the government taken any step to bring back to normalcy in the area.
The surrounding of Umpleng has deputy their VDP volunteers more than hundred everyday to bring the sense of security in the area along with the police personal who where few in numbers.
The General Secretary of the JCMDA appreciate the hard work done by the police but they are few of them which is not possible for them control.
The Government should take step immediately to deal with thus criminals who threaten and kidnap people from that area.(SP News)
