Shillong, July 03: The India International Friendship Society (IIFS), New Delhi conferred K Mechaldo Roy Khyllep a retired Deputy Commissioner of Taxes, Taxation Department of Meghalaya with a prestigioius ‘Bharat Jyoti Award’ during the seminar on “Economic Growth and National Integration’ which was held at New Dfelhi recently recently.
Khyllep joined his service as the a Inspector of Taxes Government of Meghalaya in 1980 and was elevated to the post of Deputy Commissioner of Taxes for his meritorious services and outstanding performances in his career services and achievements.
The IIFS selected Khyllep to confer the award for his contribution in the revenue collection towards Economic Growth and National Integration.
The ‘Bharat Jyoti Award’ was handed over to Khyllep by Dr. Bhisma Narain Singh, the former Union Cabinet Minister and Governor of Tamil Nadu and Assam in the presence of Dr MC Bhandari former Governor of Orissa, GVG Krishna Murthy former Chief Election Commissioner, Major Ved Prakash Secretary AICC, Members of parliament, Industrialists, Social workers and Intelligentsia.
In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, Khylleb said that he has never received award in the past adding that he was not aware as to who has forwarded his name to the IIFS for being honoured with such prestigious Bharat Jyoti Award.
Khylleb also appealed to all the citizen of the state to work hard and to endeavour with the right spirit to accomplish the works allotted to us in our career services and to take it as the assignment assigned to us by God.
“We have to render our help to our colleagues and also other people coming to our office and to help the people in general in the society, it does not matter even if we fail to get any award in this world when we know that the real award is awaited for us from beyond,” he said.
It may be mentioned here that these Awards are given to few of the extraordinary men and women, who have specialized in various fields like Economic Growth and National Integration, Science and Technology, Education, Industry, Fine Arts, Politics and Social Work in lieu of the yeoman services rendered with excellence in their respective fields.(SP News)
