Shillong, April 25: The former home minister government of Meghalaya Shri Robert G Lyngdoh today has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of Martin Luther Christian University. He will assume the position on July 1, this year. Dr KM Shyamprasad, Chancellor of MLCU, announced the selection to the Board of Governors at its meeting held today.
Shri RG Lyngdoh brings a wealth of administrative and corporate experience to his new position. He has been elected MLA twice and has held several cabinet portfolios including Home and Education. RG Lyngdoh has a postgraduate degree from the prestigious Xavier Institute of Labour Relations and has held corporate positions in Mumbai and Shillong, most recently as CEO of Livelihood Improvement Company of Meghalaya (LIFCOM) a micro financing company of the Government of Meghalaya with a developmental objective.
He is Founder Chairman of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Forum, Shillong. The prime objective of this forum was to involve stakeholders in the tourism industry in planning and developing the tourism industry. He is also President, North East Table Tennis Forum and President, Meghalaya Table Tennis Association. He is a celebrated author, poet, musician and photographer. His coffee table book, A Pont of View was released recently. He has been associated with MLCU as Advisor for several years and member of the Board of Studies for Tourism Management.(SP News)
