Guwahati, Nov 24: Today in the joint operation between the Assam and Meghalaya police today rescued the sericulture officer who was kidnap from Garo Hills after the fierce encounter between the militant and the forces at Bugalmari in Assam of the Goalpara District.
The police confirm that the militant out fit who kidnap the sericulture officer of the Assam Government are known as the Rabha National Liberation Front of Assam(RNLFA). In the encounter four members of the militant outfit was killed.
Bugalamari is ten kilometer from Dudnoi, between the border of Meghalaya and Assam. From the encounter side the police recover one carbine, one pistol and two hand grenade, the name of the slain militant is not yet identified. (SP News)
