Shillong, April 20: The Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Mr AT Mandal is yet to decide on the issue, weather to recognized Dr Donkupar Roy as the Leader of the Opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, since the Meghalaya People Front (MPF) do have any pre-poll alliance before the election.
Sources told SP News Agency that, the rule is clear any political party in the floor of the house should have requisite number of one ten from the total numbers of the legislator, which mean in the house of sixty their should be 10 MLA from the single party who is in the opposition.
The Speaker has not given his recognition to the MPF because this forum was form after the declaration of the result to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly election. The speaker is yet to give his ruling on this regard.(SP News)
