Shillong, April 21:The army motor cycle team performance during golden jubilee celebrations of HQ 101 area, at polo ground Shillong on Saturday has been a great success. It has received overwhelming response from the youth and children of Shillong. The Army will now have an Army Mela on 23 April. The event will have Fly past by Su-30 Aircraft, a repeat of motor cycle display, and other programmes including dances of North East, Khukri dance, dog show (Most popular amongst Children), aerobics , gymnastics, and many other spell binding events. Stalls on giving information on recruitment, display of weapons and equipment used by the Army and lots of fun and eatable stalls will be part of the Army Mela.
This is also an effort by the Army to provide opportunity of employment to the youth of Meghalaya and North East. Indian Army is one of the best professions in the country. The events being showcased on 23 April (Tuesday) will commence at 09.30 am and continue thereafter. Those who have missed watching the programme and also for those who want to have a second look at the perfect display of professionalism, Tuesday is the day at Garrison ground Shillong.(SP News)
