Shillong, November 20: Today Street Children of Shillong City come together and hold the procession along the street of Shillong City and demand for child right.
In this International Child Right Day the street children of Shillong in their procession caring placards with the wright up saying that “ Kids working the hold day long keep them chance to rest”. They have started their procession from Laower lachumieer takne to Malki point.
Though in Meghalaya bonded labour do not exist but child labour are in abundant. These children which consider as under privilege they work day in day out in many tea stall in and around Shillong.
Many of the children where force to work because of the economic backwardness of their family, in order to survived they were asked by their parents to work in order to contribute to their family income.(SP News)
