Shillong, May 16: Grieved and despaired students of CMJ University urged upon the government to come up with a strong solution to the problems which have been haunting them for the past few weeks.
Seeking for an early solution regarding the crisis the students today demanded the institute to come clear on the issue besides demanding the appointment of a new chancellor and submission of the annual report to the government.
With the chancellor of the university absconding and no assurance from the government or the management so far, the students are in dire straits and calling on the chancellor to come over ground and clarify the stand of the university on the matter.
Addressing a press conference today the students of CMJ University called upon the government and the authorities to give them a ray of light on what will happen to their career and life.
It may be mentioned here that the Governor of Meghalaya issued a notification cancelling all the PHD ,MPhil and degree certificates while considering the admissions as ‘null and void’.
Besides, it may also be mentioned the registrar and the deputy registrar have been recently arrested by CID while a non bailable arrest warrant has been issued against the absconding chancellor. (SP News)
