Synod College organized national seminar on Quality of research Projects in Chemistry

Shillong, August 30: A one day National Seminar on” Impact of Research Projects on the Quality of Research in Chemistry” was held at Synod College. The purpose of the Seminar was to discuss about the Quality of research Projects  in Chemistry and to study their impact on quality research.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural function was Rev.S.I.Iawphniaw, Moderator Presbyterian Church of India. While speaking on the Occasion He opined that as a subject Chemistry impacts our life in many ways right from the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the medicines and so on. He hoped that new researches will bring further improvement in the quality of life and will provide solutions to the problems facing the world today.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof.K.Ismail, Professor Department of Chemistry NEHU. He highlighted in his speech about the various funding agencies and the impact of the research projects on the quality of researches undertaken by his group in NEHU.

Other invited speakers included Prof A.T.Khan from IIT Gauhati, From R.H.Duncan from NEHU, Frof.C.Medhi from Gauhati University and  Dr.S.Baruah from Donbosco University.

The inaugural function was chaired by the Principal Dr.D.Wanswett and the valedictory function was chaired by Dr.M.Rani, Coordinator IQAC of the College.(SP News)
