Tarun Gogoi chief minister don’t support separation of Assam

Guwahati  July 31: Assam Chief Minister today said that the Telengana issue is justified and that it is as long as 60 years. However in case of Assam, the chief minister feels that  the separation is not what he supports for instead he advocates that the center should  grant enough economic package like that of a independent state so  that the problems can be solved.

” It is their issue, Andhara Pradesh has different problems and we have  different problems, so our working committee through discussions has decided  something which they know.I also know that since 60 years there has been the  Telengana demand, and when I was an MP, many leaders from Telangala become MP, and this issue is not new,the issue is of 60 years long.

Our central leaders  including Sonia Gandhi , MonMohan Singh, or their home minister have come to a decision after discussion. The demands in Assam is also not new, whether it is  Bodoland, Karbi-anglong, North-Cachar or the Koch Rajbonshi and we want their  problems should be addressed too.

At  the same time we want them to stay  together, and our thing is that the center should be give the financial package  up to the standard of what financial grant is given to a independent state, be  it Karbi-anglong, or Six schedule and even to those development councils so that  the tendency of separation does not arise and people feel justice is not done  to them, and that is what we are trying to solve”. said the Chief minister at  Rajiv Bhawan,, on the sideline of a workshop on Food security Ordinance.(SP News)
