Guwahati July 04: Countering BJP President Rajnath Singh’s allegation that solving the foreigners issue is not in the congress,s agenda, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi,said that the BJP did nothing to solve the foreigners issue and infiltration during their tenure at the centre and thus their allegation is nothing but a political play that comes before every election.
The CM, questioned the BJP, s role regarding constructing of Indo-Bangladesh border fencing which were in a very deplorable state then in comparison to the present developed situation which has only happened during the UPA rule.
Mocking on BJP,s so called success story in the recently concluded GMC election, the CM said that the BJP had failed to retain the success percentage of the earlier GMC election though they were hyping on the success so much that Rajnath Singh, had come all the way to Guwahati to felicitate the winning candidates, instead Tarun Gogoi said it was the congress who got the absolute majority which it did not had last time.
Sighting various developmental activities in the state , Chief minister Tarun Gogoi, expressed with great confidence that the forth coming Lok Sabha election will see a better seat sharing for the congress than the earlier elections. On the issue of Bangladesh Land deal, the CM reiterated that the deal will benefit Assam and that the long standing border dispute will be solved forever.(SP News)
