Shillong, April 30: In aid of the victim affected from the cyclone which hit Porla and the surrounding villages under West Khasi Hills on the 10th of April, 2013; a contribution was made by the staff members of GVK EMRI – Meghalaya operation. The relief item consisted of clothes, blanket, bed sheet, pillow covers, cups and coffee sets, food item, shoes, crockery and kitchen utensil.
Team 108 visited the cyclone hit area and distributed the relief materials at two relief camps set up at St. Faustina’s Church at Porla A and at Mawthylliang Upper Primary School in the presence of the Mr. K. Diengngan, Secretary of Porla-A Village and Mr. A. Wahlang, Secretary of Mawthylliang Village and the residents of the respective villages.
The secretaries of both the villages appreciated the good gesture of the 108 office, especially in such hard times.
