FICN racketeers apprehended by the BSF at the Boarder

Mukul SangmaOn 7th October 2012, at about 2330 hrs, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Bholaganj, Ex-44 Bn deployed in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi FICN racketeer namely Habibur Rahman (28 years) s/o Khayal Ali, r/o vill– Farua (Naya Gram), PO/PS – Companiganj distt – Sylhet, Bangladesh near BP No. 1248/9-S, while he was trying to infiltrate into India from Bangladesh.

During search, Fake Indian Currency Notes- face value Rs. 52,000/-(Denomination 500X104) party seized from his possession. Individual is a known Hardcore Criminal in the Bangladesh. He was going to give this money to his Indian accomplice.

The seized FICN was smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market. BSF is keeping a strict vigil/surveillance and having effective intelligence network along the India-Bangladesh border to nab the FICN racketeers.

Besides above, during the last week, BSF troops of Meghalaya Frontier, also seized Cattle, wooden logs and other contraband items of the estimated cost of Rs. 3,71,812/- (Rupees three lacs seventy-one thousand eight hundred twelve only). Apprehended person and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
