Shillong, Dec 23: The 12 hours bandh call by the HNLC today get a mix respond from the people in the khasi hills region.
In the Shillong city people are in the dilemma weather to defy the 12 hours band or to confine them self at home. The City still look deserted up to 10 o’clock in the morning.
Thought people are moving around but commercial area like iewduh the biggest market in Meghalaya most of the shop remains closed in spite of the appeal made by the district administration not to closed their shop.
Buses from rural areas that used to come to shillong on daily bases today are not coming due to their fear about the bandh call by the militant group the HNLC. Iew Mawlong, Khlieh Iew and Anjellee areas where buses coming from rural area are parking today look empty.
The people of Shillong area openly coming out to defy the 12 hours bandh of the HNLC, the taxi drivers come out in the street to ferry people as normal days.
The Banking sector in the city remain closed are they are not willing to take the risk since they are dealing with the financial transaction. The 12 hours bandh call by the HNLC pass out peacefully with out any untoward incident. (SP News)
