Shillong, July 03: The 1st Managing Committee of The North East Association of Kickboxing Organizations (NEAKO) was held at the Conference Hall, Assam Olympic Association Guwahati paid tribute by observing 2 minutes silence in respect of to Late Gurcharan Singh Vice President National Kickboxing Federation of India (NKFI) who died recently.
Shri Donny Ranee and Shri Umakanta Singh from Meghalaya and Manipur have been selected as the Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively of the 1st All India University Kickboxing Championship to be held in Guwahati in October this year. At present Shri Ranee and Singh are holding the post of Vice president National Kickboxing Federation of India (NKFI) and Working president NEAKO respectively. Moreover the 1st North East Kickboxing Championship will also be held on the 2nd week December in Shillong to be hosted by Meghalaya Association of Kickboxing Organizations (MAKO).
The meeting stressed on the need to present with a cash ward to all the sports and veterans athletes in kickboxing in north east and also to meet Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, MP from Assam and Hon’ble Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports in connection with the funding pattern, creating of sports infrastructures and man power development in the whole of north eastern states.(SP News)
