Shillong, June 27: The Association of Challenges People of Meghalaya (ACPM) today said that they want the state government to look up to them also since they are disabled people. As of now there are no facilities provided by the government expect the scholarship that the disable student received a sum of Rs 300 rupees annually.
Speaking to media person the president of the association inform that as of now they are getting sponsors from their benefactors from abroad like USA, France and Romania. If the government could include the SSA scheme for the disabled children also will be good enough.
Miss Melip Sangma the president of the association urged the society that they should accept the disable people in the society as equal. The government also should give equal opportunity for them also to grow. If the chance is given they are able to share equal responsibility in the society.
She also urged the parent that they should not fill shy to bring out their children if they have encourage them to come out and learn according to their own skill that they have. The attitude against the disable children should be remove.(SP News)
