Shillong, Dec 09: ANVC.Breakaway fraction has stated that its cadres are deserting ANVC.B and most of them joining new organisations.
The outfit has alleged that the Government has sidelined ANVC.B while it provided all support to ANVC.
The outfit in a press communique blamed that after signing of the Peace Pact ANVC.B cadres came over ground but never received any support from the government.
The outfit alleged “Dr Mukul Sangma invited us to be part of the peace pact which we now see as the political ploy with Congress and ANVC. Our response for peace is seen by the Government as a way to corner us. We signed for peace but failure to provide support and packages have disheartened ANVC.B cadres.”
The communique also said, “Mithun M Sangma who was arrested from Borsora is one such deserter who left the organisation on 5th September taking away two weapons. ANVC.B have restricted it’s cadres to collect taxes which has turned many cadres desperate as there was no way we could sustain our camps.
Looking at how Government have foiled the initiative to bring peace to Garo Hills ANVC.B is determined to find a way to sustain and keep cadres under fold. We cannot be mute spectators while our cadres turn rebels again.”(SP News)
