The army ensure transparency in the recruitment examination

Shillong, Nov 29:  In the continuing efforts to ensure transparency, openness and fairness in the recruiting process in the Indian Army, the conduct of some of the written exams presently conducted in subjective form, have been migrated to Optical Marks Recognition (OMR) with objective type papers.

The objective type OMR based bar coded answer sheets are already in use for Soldier General Duty, Soldier Tradesman, Soldier Technical and Section A/Part One of Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical/Inventory Management written exams.

The modifications have now been applied to the Junior Commissioned Officer (Religious Teacher), Junior Commissioned Officer (Catering), Havildar (Education), Havildar Surveyor (Survey Auto Cartographer) and Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical/Inventory Management categories.  All these categories will also give their exams on OMR based objective type answer papers.  The revised formats will apply with effect from 01 Jan 2014.

OMR answer sheets will be the mode of answering and e-OMR scanners will be used for automated evaluation of these OMR sheets.  The system of bar coding of OMR answer sheets, which is already in vogue, will continue to ensure tamper free operation with minimal human interface during evaluation and transcription of marks scored by candidates.

The details of specifics of each category can be obtained from the HQ Recruiting Zone (NE States), the Army Recruiting Offices or the Recruiting Office (HQ).(SP News)
