The ‘Asian Confluence’ in collaboration with the ICCR will organize a five day youth Camp

Shillong, Sept 11: To mark the 150th birthday anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Divya Jeevan Foundation under the aegis of its initiative, ‘Asian Confluence’ in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will organize a five day youth camp entitled “One” from 17-21 September, 2013 at Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, Shillong where the Governor of Meghalaya KK Paul will inaugurated the camp.

It is an international youth camp which will comprise youths from the entire Eastern Indian region and neighboring countries of Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand and the youths from entire northeast.

Addressing a press conference at the Shillong Press Club, Director of Asian Confluence Sabya Dutta said, “The whole motive behind organizing this youth camp is just an effort to train, inspire and galvanize youth’s energy for the development of the region in such a way that they become initiators and stakeholders of community driven schemes that are in synergy with India’s Look East Policy.

A valedictory event will be organized on the 21st of September wherein a renowned classical vocalist, Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj will perform along with other local musicians like Pynter Orchestra and Kerios Wahlang Nongtathiang who will also showcase their talents.

The event will also showcase simultaneous live paintings by two renowned artist of the region, Rafael Warjri and Benedict Hynniewta, A dancing troupe from Odisha will present Odissa dance recital followed by cultural items of the northeast.(SP News)
