The BSF apprehended a truck driver with illegal money at the International Border

Shillong, Nov 23: The Border Security Force posted at Cheragaon Land Custom Station, under BOP Bagli, Ex-73 Bn deployed in South West Khasi Hills Distt, apprehended one Indian truck driver with his truck, namely Klostar Sangma (45 yrs), s/o Kling Tariong, R/O vill – Nongsoin, PO & PS – Nongstoin, Distt – West Khasi Hills, (Meghalaya), while he was returning from Bangladesh to India through LCS Cheragaon after unloading coal in Bangladesh. During the search of apprehended person, BSF party recovered Indian currency Rs. 39,315/-, BD Taka-20/-, Mobile -01 and SIM-01 from his possession.

In interrogation, apprehended truck revealed that the above Indian currency was meant for excess coal being carried to Bangladesh by the exporter. The truck driver and Seized items have been handed over to the concerned Department for further investigation.

Besides above, On 20th Nov 2013 at about 1730 hrs, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Gumaghat ex-73 Bn BSF deployed in South West Khasi Hills,with Police rep,  apprehended 02 Indian nationals namely  Neera M Marak aged 42 yrs s/o Prem Sangma, R/o Manai PO&PS Ranikor, Distt- South West Khasi Hills, (Meghalaya) and Pulsestor Earwpshnaw aged 45 yrs s/o K Pareon r/o Nongra PO- Nongra, Ps- Ranikor, Distt- South West Khasi Hills (Meghalaya) (driver) with a Mahindra Pickup vehicle bearing No.ML-05-K-7633, while going from Ranikor to Gumaghat . During search of apprehended person, BSF party recovered following items, which were to be smuggled to Bangladesh :-  Indian Currency 4663/- and 02 Nos Mobile with 01 BD and 01 Indian SIMs were also recovered from the possession of above personnel. Both apprehended person with seized items have been handed over to police for further legal action.(SP News)
