Shillong, Jan 20: BSF troops of BOP Rongra, South Garo Hills distt of Meghalaya apprehended Bangladeshi national identified as Shamunul Mian aged 32 years, S/o Shahid Mian, R/o vill – Phoolbari Kandapara , PS – Kalmakanda, Distt – Netrakona (Bangladesh) while he was trying to cross the International Border near BP No 1172/M on 20th Jan 2014. During search, FICN face value Rs. 20,000/- (40 notes in the denomination of Rs 500/-), BD Taka 500/- and one Mobile with BD SIM (Banglalink) recovered from his possession.
During the week, BSF troops of BOP Mukamchera, East Khasi Hills distt of Meghalaya apprehended two Indian nationals alongwith one Bolero vehicle identified Golia Sangma, age 35 years, S/o Gran Marak and Chatrlah Syem Sab aged 35 yrs s/o Kanbhe Kharhynmphieeiw both r/o Vill- Hatkyrbo, PS– Batmawban, Distt – East Khasi Hills (Meghalaya) near BP No. 1230/M, with 732 Kgs Garlic worth Rs 65,880/-, in a vehicle (Bolero) worth Rs 4,90,562/-, Indian Currency Rs 270/- and 01 Mobile with 02 Indian SIM (Total Rs– 5,56,712/-). On Meghalaya border BSF troops also seized 1258 Btls Liquor, 06 Nos Cattle heads, Forest produce and other contraband items of the estimated value more than 9 Lacs while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
