Shillong, Dec 06: On the specific information, BSF party of BOP Gumaghat , Ex- 73 Bn BSF deployed in South West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, apprehended one Indian smuggler identified as Sengban Marak (19 years) Nalikata, Police Station of Ranikor, of South West Khasi Hills District Meghalaya near BP No.1203/MP.
During search, party recovered Indian currency Rs 40,000/-, one Mobile with one Indian SIM (Aircel) & one Bangladesh SIM from his possession. During preliminary questioning, above apprehended person revealed that the above money was meant for smuggling of oranges from Indian territory to Bangladesh. He received this amount in Bangladesh from his associates. During the course of infiltration into Indian territory, he was intercepted by the BSF patrolling party.
Apprehended person and seized items has been handed over to concerned department for further legal action.(SP News)
