Shillong, Jan 24: The BSF troops of LCS Post Cheragaon under BOP Bagli deployed in South West Khasi Hills Distt, apprehended one Indian truck driver with his truck (Vehicle No ML-09A- 5607), namely Libandro Hazang (34 yrs) S/o Rosendra Hazang, r/o Vill–Panchring, Ps–Ranikor, Distt- South West Khasi Hills (Meghalaya), while he was returning from Bangladesh to India through LCS Cheragaon after unloading coal in Bangladesh. During the search of apprehended person, BSF party recovered Indian currency Rs. 40,000/- from his possession. The apprehended truck driver during his questioning, revealed that the above Indian currency was meant for excess coal being carried to Bangladesh by the exporter. The truck driver and Seized items have been handed over to the concerned Department for further investigation.
Besides above, On 22nd Jan 2014, BSF Troops of BOP Kachuadogri deployed in South West Garo Hills intercepted one motorcycle (Bajaj Platina Regd No ML-08-A-8311, stolen from Tikrikilla, Distt- West Garo Hills) near Hills road and apprehended one Indian national identified as Samsul Haque aged 35 yrs s/o Late Abdul Haque R/o Vill–Garobadha, PS–Ampati, Distt–South West Garo Hills and one Bangladeshi national namely Ali Azagar S K, while they were coming from Dalu side and going towards Mahendraganj for further smuggling the Phensedyl to Bangladesh. During search, party recovered Mobile -02 Nos with 02 Indian and 01 BD SIMs, Indian currency Rs 22/- and Phensedyl 10 Btls.
On lead of above apprehended smugglers, an special operation was conducted by BSF troops of BOP Fakirakona deployed in South Garo Hills and apprehended two other Bangladeshi smugglers, identified as Md Habibur aged 22 yrs and Aminul Islam aged 22 yrs both hailing from vill-Bhutiapara, Po- Surjapur, Ps- Halwaghat, Distt- Mymensingh (Bangladesh). During the search, party recovered 01 Mobile with 01 BD SIM and 370/- BD Taka were recovered from their possession. All the above four smugglers were active in this area since long and they were nabbed after a thorough planning by BSF troops.
Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
