Shillong, Jan 27: The BSF celebrated the Republic Day functions have been celebrated with great fervour and zeal at a school in a remotely located border village Mawphllun under PS Ranikor, District South West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.The function was attended by Border Security Force personnel, State Police personnel, School students and more than 500 bordering villagers. On this occasion, a colourful cultural programme was presented by school children of Upper Primary School Mawphllun.
A friendly football match was also played to mark the occasion. 03 Doctors from BSF and one Lady Doctor from CHC Ranikor attended to about 400 patients from 15 villages of border areas and they were provided medical advice and medicines free of cost by BSF.
During Civic Action Programme, sports items were distributed to students of Evergreen School, Hemanagar , Upper Primary School, Nalikata , Community Centre, Gumaghat , L P School, Majhersora , Primary School, Telagaon , L P School, Barsora , L P School, Karaigora and L P School, Rajapara located in Border areas. Water storage tanks and Torches were also provided to Community Centres and VDPs of 07 border villages Bagli, Kakai Kona, Kala Pahar, Gila Gora, Chintu Sora, Rajapara and Rajai. The villagers were very happy and hailed BSF for organising such functions in the remote villages.(SP News)
