Shillong, Nov 26: A voluntary blood donation camp was organized at Composite Hospital BSF FTR HQ, Meghalaya on 26/11/2013 in collaboration with blood bank department NEIGRIHMS, Shillong.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Sh. Anil Kumar, IPS, IG, BSF, FTR HQ Meghalaya in presence of senior officers of BSF, Dr. E. Lyngdoh, Dy Director Meghalaya AID’s Control Society & Dr Luthika N. Lyngdoh, Blood bank In-charge, NEIGRIHMS. He appreciated and encouraged the donors and said the blood donation is a noble work and a great service to humanity. We have the force with 99% of healthy, young men and women who can voluntarily donate blood which can be used for the patients in need
Dr. Luthika N. Lyngdoh spoke about the need of voluntary blood donation. She congratulated and expressed her deepest gratitude to BSF for having 3rd voluntary blood donation camp during the year 2013. She explained that blood donation is absolutely safe, and healthy person can donate their blood once in a three months
Large number of BSF officers and other personnel donated their blood during the camp and were provided rich refreshment after blood donation. (SP News)
