The BSF recover 37 carons of Phensedyl costing Rs 38.16 lakh

Shillong,  March 13: On 13th March 2013, on specific input, Mobile-Check-Post (MCP) laid by troops of ex-98 Bn BSF, while carrying out checking at Sonapur Bridge in East Jaintia Hills intercepted a Tripura bound Truck (3118 Tata Truck 12 Wheeler) bearing Registration No. TR-1T-1625 on NH 44 carrying Palmolein oil. During thorough search of the veh, BSF personnel recovered 37 Cartons of Phensedyl containing 5550 bottles. Besides, Troops seized 1,100 Tins of Palmolein Oil. The Total value of seized is Rs. 38,16,487/- (Thirty eight lacs Sixteen thousand four hundred eighty seven).

The party also apprehended driver and co-driver of the truck who have been identified as  Tapal Nama Das Driver, Raju Deb Barma  co-driver

Indian currency Rs. 1,900/-, Nokia Mobile -01 & 01 BSNL SIM were also recovered from the possession of above apprehended Indian National.

As stated by the driver, the owner of Truck loaded Phensedyl in Guwahati and was being taken to Agartala. The item has been handed over to Distt police East Jaintia Hills.

In the others incident  On 12th Mar 2013, on specific input, BSF troops of BOP Kuliang Ex-98 Bn deployed in East Jaintia Hills distt. of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi smuggler namely Alam Gir, aged 20 yrs, s/o Jamaluddin, r/o Vill- Kadam Chura, Po- Mumtazganj, Ps- Kanighat, Distt- Sylhet (Bangladesh)while he was trying to exfiltrate into Bangladesh from India near BP No. 1324/MP.  During search, party recovered 03 Mobile phones with 01 Indian SIM, 04 Mobile Charger, 03 Memory card, Indian Currency Rs 6,000/- and other Misc items(including garments, eatable items and crockery) worth  Rs 15,800/- from his possession.

The apprehended person along with seized items have been handed over to concerned department for legal action.(SP News)
