Shillong, Dec 01: Meghalaya Frontier BSF celebrated the 48th Raising Day
at Mawpat, Shillong. The function was inaugurated with lighting of lamp by Shri Anil Kumar, IPS Inspector General of Meghalaya Frontier. On the occasion of the Raising Day, Sh Anil Kumar, IPS, IG while addressing the Jawans and Officers exhorted to maintain utmost vigil on border and ensure security of border and border population. He briefed that Force HQrs is taking care of their welfare and Jawans should take care of the borders.
On the occasion of BSF raising day, a free medical camp was organized at village Shibbari on Indo-Bangladesh border in the AOR of 132 Bn BSF deployed in South Garo Hills distt of Meghalaya. The basic aim of the medical camp is for the benefit of under privileged people of border areas. Total 300 civilians i.e. male, female and children from the border villages were examined and given free medicine in the camp by BSF medical officers.
Border Security Force is not only guarding the borders of our Country but also putting efforts to make the life of Border population comfortable happier, healthy and disease free. In the past also BSF has been conducting various medical camps for the border population.(SP News)
