The Governor Mooshahary is unawares on the need of ILP: HSPDP
Shillong, November 02: The Hills State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) while observing the speached of the Governor R S Mooshahary during inaugural session of the first Creative Arts, Literature and Music Festival 2012, at the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture said that there is strong demand of ILP because people feel a sense of “Insecurity”. HSPDP questions the Governor understands of the word “Insecurity” with regard to ILP.
This oldest regional political party of the state, the HSPDP stated that the Governor has to learn the deeper meaning of “Insecurity” so that he would be able to differentiate and correlate the word “Insecurity” properly.
The HSPDP joint Secretary Shri G Nonglong spoke person of the party pointed out that, according to Article 19 of our Constitution (1)(d) All citizens shall have the right to move freely throughout the territory of India and (1)(e) All citizens shall have the right to reside and settle in any part of the territory of India. But, Article 19(5) says that Nothing in sub clauses (d) and (e) of the said clause shall affect the operation of any existing law in so far as it imposes, or prevent the State from making any law imposing, reasonable restrictions on the exercise of any of the rights conferred by the said sub clauses for the protection of the interests of any Scheduled Tribe.
HSPDP states that the demand of ILP is not because “people feel insecure” but because “people wish to be Protected and Identified” Hence, “Protection(Iada) rather than Insecurity(Bym sngew shngain)” is why there is a demand of ILP in the state as one of the measures to check Influx.
HSPDP wants “progress and development of the state” but not at the cost of being “root out of its own people from its own land “therefore, to uplift the indigenous tribal of the state and also to protect their ethnic purity, laws must be properly implemented. Also, some more laws need to be enacted which are necessary for the overall upliftment, growth, development and protection of the people of the state keeping in view the “Identity” Shri G Nonglong Said.(SP News)
