Shillong, November 11: The annual Eucharistic Procession of the Catholic Church wad held today at Laitumkhrah Parish. This procession is to profess their faith in public and show to the world that they one in Christ Jesus without having any differences in Jesus Christ all are belong to God.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Shillong celebrated the annual Eucharistic Procession at Calvary, Laitumkhrah Shillong on Sunday. The Eucharistic Procession began with the concelebrating of Holy Mass in the Morning where the priest and clergy gathered around the Calvary offering the Holy Mass.
The procession was taken part by thousands of Catholic faithful from different parts of East Khasi Hills with devotion and fervour. During the procession, the Eucharist was carried through the main road of Laitumkhrah amidst singing of hymns, reciting of prayers and playing bands.
It was learnt that the purpose of carrying the Eucharist through the main thoroughfares of the city was to accord praise, honour and worship to God in public who is presence in the Eucharist.
It may be mentioned here that the Eucharistic Procession also coincides with the “Year of Faith” of the Catholic Church.(SP News)
