Shillong, Nov 10: The annual Eucharistic procession of the Catholic was held today at the Laitumkhrah Parish with the holly mass in the morning and follow by the procession in the afternoon, where the faithful from the three dioceses take part with devotion.
The catholic show their solidarity in Christ in the form of the procession this is not the new thing but its was the practice from the olden days. In this procession they profess themselves that they are one in Christ.
The specialty of these year annual procession is that the catholic has observed the year 2013 as the year of faith; the church will conclude this “The Year of Faith” on the 24th of this month.
The arch Bishop of Shillong today announced that the year 2014 will be dedicated as the year of the “Family”. The reason for dedicating the year 2014 as the year of the family the church want to say that it need a good family to strengthen the faith.
Today lakh of the catholic faithful come to participate in this procession with great devotion and to profess themselves that they are one in Christ.(SP News)
