Shillong, Sept 18: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma said that Inner Line Permit is not the only solution to prevent influx in the state, there are others law which the government has to prevent the influx in to the state.
After the meeting of the MUA-II, the Chief minister told the media that ILP is not the only solution to prevent influx there are others laws which will prevent influx. The Chief minister said that the government has strengthen the directorate of infiltration and the task force to tackle influx and the government will implement the tenancy act in the state.
The Chief Minister categorically made it clear until the NGOs stop their agitation the government will not call them for dialogue, and the government is firm not to implement ILP in the state.
The agitation call by the NGOs has cause a lot of destruction to the state not only to government property but also to public as well. The chief minister said that there are laws which prevent agitation.
The Chief minister said that the government would not like to waist time on the report of the High Level Committee on influx which need the approval of the central government said Dr Sangma.
On the demand of the opposition for the Chief Minister to step down, The Chief minister question the opposition do they have the requisite number. The chief minister said that the UDP is a party with out no agenda, the ILP is not in their manifesto but they come forwards to demand for the implementation of the ILP.(SP News)
