Shillong, Sept 30: The Class IV student of Loreto Convent Shillong Miss Gayatri Nair wins Gold Medal in 10 Meter Air Pistol Shooting (Women) in All Assam Shooting Championship 2013. This girl, daughter of Army officer Colonel MN Sajan also stood first among all categories of sub junior and senior women category.
IX All Assam State Shooting Championship 2013 was held at Kahilpara , Guwahati from 27 sep to 29 sep 13. The annual championship was organized by Assam Rifle and Shooting Association . Miss Gayatri Nair studying in class IV in Loreto Convent took part in the competition as a part of the 58 GTC team. She won the Gold Medal in 10 meter air pistol shooting (Women) scoring 351 /400. The girl was placed at sub junior category , she could participate in higher categories also competing with girls and women much senior in age and experience. Though in the sub junior category she stood first among all the categories of sub junior , junior and senior women category . In the final competition for the Champion of Champions competition she won champion in the 10 m air pistol shooting held on 29 Sep 13.
The prize distribution was held on 29 Sep in which the ADGP (Crime ) gave away the prizes.The GTC team won seven medal in the 10 m air pistol and Rifle competititon (men) in different categories.(SP News)
