Shillong, Nov 03: The president of the KSU on behalf of the 14 NGO, in his press statement today said that, it is evidence that the government is a one man government and the situation warrant the chief minister to be present and resolved the issued of the state.
The foreign trips speak volume of his seriousness on the issue of influx and for a conducive and peaceful atmosphere in the state. This is another compelling reason to view with skepticism the claim and commitment of the government to resolved the issued.
The NGO term that the misleading statement of the government regarding the Eastern Bengal Frontier Act, 1873 from Garo Hills has yet to be proven by any documentation in spite of our repeated request that the government should produce the repeal document to substantiate its claim but if fail to do so. The NGOs are justified that the act is very much in the existence in the entire state.
The president of the KSU said that the chief minister statement equating the demand of the social organization with that of the arms militant outfit is highly objectionable and condemnable. In the statement “ we do not possess any arms or weapons to lay down or surrender, but wish to exercises our right as per the constitution to demand for a legitimate implementation of a law to protect the interest of the indigenous people which is also the responsibility and sworn duty of the state government.
To continued with their agitation to demand from the state government for the implementation of the ILP in the state of Meghalaya the NGO has call for the night raod blocked from 5 to 7 of this month, it will start from 8 pm to 5 am in the morning. The NGOs appeal to all the people of the state to learn their support in the struggle for implementation of ILP in the state. (SP News)
