Shillong, Jan 10: The Court of the Addl. Deputy Commissioner(Judicial), Shillong vide Order dated. 20.12.13 has awarded punishment of 8(eight) years rigorous imprisonment to Shri Dilip Chettri and with a fine of Rs. 1,000/- only.
The order has come in default of payment of fine, the accused shall be liable for another one month imprisonment. The brief of the case is that on 27.01.2012 Shri Honroy Khongdir, Headman of Pyrnai village filed a written FIR Dtd. 27.01.2012 at Pynursla Police station.
To the effect that the accused person Shri Dilip Chettri on 27/01/12 at around 7.00 AM set ablaze the house of his ex wife Smti Shrak Khongtiang at Pyrnai village as a result the house was reduced to ashes and the cost of loss is approximately amounting to Rs. 2,00,000/-(Rs. Two lakhs) only. The case was investigated Sub Inspector Phrianglin Syiem 2nd O/C Pynursla Police Station.(SP News)
