Shillong, June 17: The Minister in-charge community and Rural Development (C&RD) Mr Prestone Tynsong said that the department will priorities Rural Sanintation, “ This is the need of the Hours in the rural areas” he said.
Informing this to the SP News Agency the minister said that, the total sanitation campaign which is implemented by the PHE Department, the fund that was sanction is not sufficient to construct a toilet in the hills areas like Meghalaya. “ I am the former PHE minister and during my time the amount has been enhance”.
The minister said that even with the enhancement of the amount to construct a toilet is not sufficient. The C&RD department will make a porper study in this regard and come up with the suitable amount which will be help full to the rural areas to have their own toilet.
The People in the rural areas are facing inconveniences in going to discharge their solid waste, many people in the rural areas they are going to their nearby jungle, and this create a lot of water pollution since most the PHE water supply in the state are run through gravitation. (SP News)
