Shillong, Oct 22: The CSWO condemns the misuse of power and the arrogant attitude of the Government run by a Chief Minister whose credentials are very doubtable especially when his scheduled Tribe Certificate was not signed by a competent authority and not signed under the order of the Constitution (scheduled Tribe) Order 1950. In fact the CM should be booked under this MPDA and not the NGO’s.
The CM has not dared book his Cabinet minister, who is very much involved in tampering marks of candidates for the appointment of the Asst LP School teachers, in spite of prima facie evidence, and his argument is based on grounds that no one is guilty until proven. Yet his Corrupt Government is trying to suppress all forms of protest and booking NGO’s under the MPDA.
Women NGO’s, who wanted to peacefully protest were not allowed yet a concert was permitted by the DC East Khasi Hills District, violating the imposition of section 144. This very DC, East Khasi Hills, did not take any action, when it was reported that Government paid Rs 10 crores on forged land documents for the New Shillong Township, and even insulted the Lyngdoh of Nongkrem, when he raised the issue of Raid Land.
The CSWO will work out strategies to stop all this bullying around by Government, who is taking for granted the voice of the people and harassing the youth. The CSWO now urges the youth and also the HNLC to refrain from taking acts of violence in a form of retaliation, as the issue is to work in the interest of the people and the CSWO will not allow Governments to abuse their power.
Youth should now be the pillar to remove all the corrupt practice by those in power and this should be done not through violence but through other means of rallying the trust of the people. It is clearly noticed that this Corrupt Government is not even willing to call youth for talks and antagonizing them in the wrong path. A concerned Government would work out strategies for talks to bring back peace, and not by instigating a concert for peace.
The worst of people are in Government looting in the name of development, and terrorizing the people by parade by the police with arms. This is not a war, and we have to guide the youth into the path of righteousness. The wrong people are in jail. It should be the other way round. The Corrupt in Governance should be sitting in jail, said the press statement of the CSWO.
The CSWO sees this impersonation by the CM of Meghalaya as a Tribal, a serious threat to the security of the State, and the High Court should take cognizance of this fact and request the Chief Justice of Meghalaya, to kindly come to the assistance of the people and to sou moto pass an order to investigate and find out the facts about this CM as lay people are not capable of taking the Corrupt Government to court every time as there are hardly any lawyers willing to fight the Government. The role of the Election Commission of Meghalaya and the DC Tura should also be investigated into as they had ignored these facts when brought to their notice.(SP News)
