Guwahati March 25: The North East Students Organization (NESO) , all over the north east states today sat in protest demonstration in Raj Bhawan, and in Guwahati, also the Assam unite sat in a protest.
The demand of NESO is a long standing demand for settling the Issue of Illegal Bangladeshi people staying in various parts of the North East, sealing of Indo-Bangladesh Border, updating the National Register of Citizens etc.
The NESO advisor, Dr. SAMMUJAL BHATTACHARYA, also accused the Indian government of discriminating the people of the North East and thus alienating the People from the Mainland, which has been going for a long time.
He held the example of IROM SHARLIMA, of Manipur who have been protesting against the AFSPA, in a non-violent manner over more than a decade, but the government never paid heed to her.
On the other had recently the Parliamentary delegation was sent to Jammu and Kashmir to discuss about the AFSPA, but this was not the case for the North East. Such is the attitude of the central government with the North East.(SP News)
