Shillong, Sept 17: The deputy Commissioner of West Khasi Hill District today promulgate Section 144 CrPC in the West Khasi Hills District,In view of the office picketing and night road blockade called by some NGOs on the 17th and 19th September, 2013.
The Additional District Magistrate, West Khasi Hills District Nongstoin has promulgated an order under section 144CrPC prohibiting and banning the carrying of license arms by any licensed holder or any other person. The order comes into force with immediate effect, said the government press statement.(SP News)
